Who We Are

JACOB THOMSEN


Assistant Professor and +15 years experience in teaching and developing higher educations both in Denmark and international programs.


Jacob Thomsen (M.Sc. International Business Development) is a skilled associate professor with experience from College and Higher Educations from Denmark and Europe.


His current position is programme coordinator of a PBA in innovation & Entrepreneurship, researcher and project manager at UCL University College Denmark.


He has experience in developing entrepreneurship curriculums and programmes in HEIs across faculties and different universities.


He has been approved as external examiner at HEIs (students) and as a counselor for BA students.


He has the following training:

  • Postgraduate Diploma of Education, The professional postgraduate teacher training course, University of Southern Denmark
  • Price-Babson Symposium for Entrepreneurship Educators – SEE 39
  • Entrepreneurial Leadership in Higher Education workshops, University Industri Innovation Network, Amsterdam
  • Certified by FabLab for Laser cutting, 3D print, and vinyl print


His current research interests are in fields such as entrepreneurship education; entrepreneurial education ecosystem, maker-spaces, incubator, and student start-ups, developing new programs and curriculum, teacher pedagogical development and learning. He is participating in various research projects related to this field.

Dr. BIRGITTE WRAAE, PH.D., Econ 

 

Associate professor and advanced entrepreneurial facilitator and teacher in higher education across Europa and US. 

 

Birgitte Wraae (PH.D., Econ) finalized her PH.D. with the title "Developing Student Entrepreneurial Identity – The Student-Process-Educator Nexus in Entrepreneurship Education" at TU Berlin.

Dr. Birgitte Wraae,  PH.D., Econ is Chair of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management and Associate Professor (entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, HR) at UCL University College, a university of applied sciences in Denmark.


She is experienced in both teaching and management in higher education. She has been a part of establishing two new studies as well as planning and teaching in international programs.


She has been approved as external examiner at both HEIs (students) and, for lecturers applying to become associate professors at universities of applied sciences.


She has the following training:

  • Price-Babson Symposium for Entrepreneurship Educators – SEE 39
  • Pedagogy basic (theoretical)
  • Practical pedagogy


Furthermore, she is certified in both the Business Model Canvas and the Business Model You.


Her current research interests are in fields such as entrepreneurship education; the student-educator relationship, learning, didactics, and digitalization of education. She is participating in several research projects related to this field.


Awards

  • Was in 2012 awarded with a Fellowship of European Entrepreneurial Educational Programme by their committee (chaired by Prof. Paul Hannon).
  • Finalist for the 3rd Innovation and Entrepreneurship Teaching Excellence Awards at the 12th European Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Paris, September 2017
  • Winner of the poster award at the 12th European Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, September 2017 with the poster: “Video-Clip Talk in Entrepreneurship Education – A Tool for Deeper Learning and Effective Qualitative Assessment” along with her colleague Christa Tigerstedt, Åbo University, Finland.
